Peptide Storage and Handling: Stability from Delivery to Final Draw

Peptide stability is largely manageable if a small set of storage rules is followed. Those rules preserve research material at every stage: in transit, on the shelf, and after reconstitution.

Freeze-dried peptides are highly stable when sealed in their original vials and kept refrigerated at 2–8°C; most remain within specification for 24 months or longer. Three factors determine that stability:

Reading the signs of degradation

A properly reconstituted peptide appears as a clear, colorless solution. Discard a vial that shows cloudiness that doesn't clear, visible particulates or fibers, color change, or any microbial haze. Degradation is not always visible, so validated storage windows, rather than appearance, should determine when a vial is retired.

Transit and receiving

Move peptides to refrigeration promptly on delivery. A warm package alone is not cause for concern because sealed lyophilized vials tolerate transit heat well. Check that the vial seals are intact and that the batch IDs match your paperwork. Every vial we ship carries a batch ID traceable to its published certificates.
